Please join us in celebrating all the women of the Y: residents, supporters, and staff. We will hear remarks from YWCA-GCR Executive Director Starletta Renée and writer Amy Halloran followed by a presentation of flowers to YWCA-GCR residents as a tradition of honoring the strength of women on International Women's Day.
Our Eighth Annual BraVa! is a fundraiser to “support” YWCA of the Greater Capital Region that will provide new bras and binders to those in need The event features Capital Region artists performing pieces on the subject of brassieres in their lives.
The Adopt-a-Family Program aims to provide every YWCA-GCR woman and child a holiday experience like we experience with our own families. Last year, all 26 families were adopted, and 76 single women received a gift bag filled to the top with meaningful necessities! Can you help us bring holiday cheer, joy, and new memories to the women and children this holiday season?
Our 23rd Annual Resourceful Women’s Awards, presented by Groff NetWorks, will be held on Wednesday, September 27, 2023 at 6PM at Franklin Plaza in Troy honoring the 2023 Resourceful Woman of the Year, Dr. Dorcey Applyrs and other community-nominated resourceful women. With the support of sponsors, honorary committee members, and attendees, we hope to raise over $75,000 to support YWCA-GCR‘s unique services and programs to help women reach self-sufficiency.
